BRYUM MOSS earrings are hand embroidered on velvet backing with glass beads in various shapes, creating an interesting repeat pattern as exhibited by moss forms. The drop shape glass beads at the end of the fringe symbolize spores which help propagate mosses fast and far, carried through wind. 

🌼Moss are ancient rootless, flowerless, seedless plants that are one of the most effective carbon sequester on earth. Byrum Argentium are one of the fire mosses. Fire moss colonization occurs following high severity wildfires and can be an important tool for soil stabilization measures. Fire mosses can have universal applications for post fire restoration as they are found on all continents, they can be dried and stored for decades, can hold upto 1400% of their dry weight in water helping combat post fire flash flooding and soil erosion. Unlike vascular plant seeds these can spread far and quickly through spores explosion.
